While Susan Ganz, CEO and Chair of Lion Brothers, was brought to Baltimore by “happenstance,” we were very intent on bringing her to our “Women in NextGen Manufacturing & Engineering” event. Her portfolio and innovation speak for themselves, and she will bring much knowledge for all in attendance.

Ganz is the CEO and Chair of Lion Brothers, which is the leading designer and manufacturer of apparel identity solutions. Lion’s clients include the world’s most notable organizations, teams, corporations and brands. Lion began as an embroidery company 115 years ago, and today it is a leader in technology-based identity products developed with a focus on material science and performance textiles. Ganz holds several patents on technologies for textiles, including 3D-visualization for print and cold-adhesive technologies for textiles.

Ganz currently serves as Chair of the Maryland Economic Development Commission. She is Vice-Chair of Maryland’s Regional Manufacturing Institute (RMI), serves on the Board of Visitors of Towson University and sits on the Board of the Maryland Israel Development Center and the Presidential Scholars Foundation. Ganz is a member of Trustees Council of Penn Women and is on the Board of Sustainable Health Enterprises (SHE) Innovates, a social business enterprise based in Rwanda. Ganz serves on the Board of Hedwin Corporation, a privately held company based in Baltimore, and is a past director of Applica (NYSE: APN)

She holds an MBA in Finance and Multinational Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Florida. Ganz is a member of WPO/YPO, The Committee of 200 – the pre-eminent women’s business leadership organization – and Network 2000 – Maryland’s women professional leadership organization.  Ganz is married to Howard P. Sugarman, and has three children; Samuel (18), Ali (17) and Molly (15).

This event offers a panel/audience discussion for anyone who wants to learn about successful women leaders in NextGenM .

The event will be held March 27, 2014 from 8 to 11:30 a.m., at the National Electronics Museum (1745 West  Nursery Rd, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090). The costs are $35.00 per RMI member  and $45.00 for a non-member (membership info here) .
